Frequently Asked Questions

Pie Seller Questions

Pie Hero | Pie in the Sky | Project Angel HeartWhat do I have to do to be a Pie Seller?

It's easy! Just sign up as a pie seller online, either as an individual or under a team name. Then get the word out to friends, co-workers, and family. You can post a personal message on your pie webpage, print out flyers and marketing materials, send reminder emails, and link to Facebook and Twitter, all from your Pie Headquarters. Get there by logging in and clicking on the Pie Headquarters button in the top right corner of this page.

What is the minimum number of pies I can set as my sales goal?

There is no minimum, since EVERY pie sold will help us achieve our mission of delivering nutritious meals, at no cost, for those coping with life-threatening illness. In fact, because 100 percent of the proceeds benefit Project Angel Heart, every pie purchased allows us to provide THREE nutritious, customized meals for someone in need! However, we encourage you to set a goal to sell at least ten pies. Selling ten pies will allow us to feed someone in need for an entire month... and you'll earn an official Pie in the Sky T-shirt! You can update your goal on your personal pie seller page.

Do I get anything for selling pies?

Sell ten pies and you'll earn a fun Pie in the Sky t-shirt! Sell 20 pies and you'll earn a Pie in the Sky t-shirt plus a free pizza from Anthony's Pizza & Pasta. Sell 40 pies and you'll earn a Pie in the Sky t-shirt, a free pizza from Anthony's Pizza & Pasta plus a Pie in the Sky mug. If you sell pies as part of a team, your team is also eligible to win fun prizes.

Can I join an existing team if I've already registered as an individual pie seller?

Yes. To join an existing team, log into your Pie Headquarters. On the right side of your screen, you'll see a list of actions you can take. Click on "Change Team Membership" at the end of the list and search for the team you wish to join.

Can I send emails about Pie in the Sky through my regular email account?

Yes, you can. However, there are benefits to using the email system in your Pie Headquarters. Our system allows you to track responses to your emails. And the "group" feature allows you to send group emails to current pie buyers or donors, past pie buyers or donors, or people who have not yet supported Pie in the Sky. You can easily import email addresses from other email systems.

I love the pre-written emails, but can I customize them to sound more like me?

Of course. We encourage this! Use as little or as much of the pre-written text as you like. The people you email are more likely to respond to a message that sounds like it's from you.

Buying Pies

What flavors do the pies come in and who bakes them?

Delicious apple, pecan, pumpkin, and cherry pies, all freshly baked by Bluepoint Bakery, will be sold online for $25 each.

Will you deliver my pies to me?

Pies will be available for pickup at various locations in the Denver metro area, Boulder, and Colorado Springs on Tuesday, November 22. Click here for a full list of pickup locations and times.

When is the last day I can order pies?

November 17, 2016, is the final day to order pies.

Rather than buy a pie, I want to make a gift to Project Angel Heart. Can I do this online?

You can! Click on the Donate button at the top of the page. Each donation of $25 will provide three medically tailored meals to a Coloradan fighting a life-threatening illness.

Is it possible to have my pies sent out of town?

Because the pies are fresh-baked and delivered to pick-up locations by volunteers, pies are available only at the specified pick-up locations in and around the greater Denver metro area, Boulder, and Colorado Springs.

Are pie purchases tax-deductible?

Yes! Of each pie purchased, $20 is tax-deductible.

If I can't make it to a pick-up location, what should I do?

If you can't pick up your pies from your selected pick-up location on November 22, you may have a friend pick them up. You may also pick up pies at Project Angel Heart's Denver office on November 23 from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Any pies not picked up by noon on the 23rd will be delivered to feed the homeless and hungry at the Squeaky Bean Thanksgiving Feed, thanks in part to our partnership with Kirkpatrick Bank. Project Angel Heart's Denver office is located at 4950 Washington St, Denver, CO 80216.

Do you sell pies for those on special diets (kosher, vegan, gluten-free)?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide pies for those on special diets at this time.

Can I buy a pie and donate it to a Project Angel Heart client?

Yes! Select "Pie for a Client" from the options on our "Buy a Pie" page and check out as usual.

uestion: Can I send emails through my regular email account?
Answer: Yes, you can. However, there are benefits to using the email system in your Participant Center. First, our system allows you to see if contacts opened your email and/or visited your pie page. Second, the "group" feature allows you to send email only to people who bought pie or donated, or only to those who have NOT. Lastly, it will store all of that info, including a list of who purchased/donated, for next year's Pie in the Sky event.

Question: Can I customize the emails to sound more like me?
Answer: Of course. We encourage this! Use as little or as much of the pre-written text as you like. The people you email are more likely to respond to a message that sounds like it's from you.
