About Pie in the Sky
During the Thanksgiving season, helping neighbors in need is easy as…well, easy as pie! Pie in the Sky, now in its ninth year in Colorado, gives community members a fun, easy way to give back during the holiday season. Hundreds of volunteer pie sellers and teams sell pies to friends, family, and coworkers. The fresh-baked pies are then available for pickup the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Each $25 pie sold allows Project Angel Heart to prepare and deliver three medically tailored meals, free of charge, for someone living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, kidney disease, or another life-threatening illness.
Pies are baked and donated by Bluepoint Bakery, a wholesale, gourmet bakery located in Denver. Four delicious flavors are available:
Pie Size, Packaging, & Pickup
Our 9” pies are packaged in sturdy, gift-quality boxes with a label indicating that the pie purchase supports Project Angel Heart. They are baked on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and will stay fresh on your counter (apple, pecan, and cherry) or in your refrigerator (pumpkin) until your Thanksgiving Day dinner. When ordering pies, you will be asked to select a pie pickup location in the Denver metro area, Colorado Springs, or Boulder. Your pies will be available at this location, and ONLY this location, on Tuesday, November 21, at the times indicated on our website and in your reminder email.
Are Pies Tax-Deductible?
The fair market value for each pie is $5, so $20 of your purchase may be tax-deductible (please consult your tax advisor). Pies purchased for a Project Angel Heart client are 100 percent tax-deductible. A receipt for tax purposes will be emailed to you after your purchase.
